Overview.

The 2025 Coach Paul Peterson Basketball Camp provides athletes ages 8-18 with a structured basketball learning experience that encourages team participation and personal development.

Under the direction of Head Coach Paul Peterson and Camp Director Jim Detjen, this year’s camp will focus on improving campers’ skills during games while emphasizing offense, defense, shooting and game fundamentals. Location for all events is on the Wasatch Academy campus. Both US and international campers will be attending.

The program will feature guest instructors who are top NBA and international professional players along with his Wasatch Academy Basketball team and coaching staff. More special guests to be announced soon!

4 Day / 3 Night Camp

I have already registered. Where can I find camper information to successfully prepare for camp?

 

Check-in?

Onsite check-in is Monday at 10:00 AM for both Overnighters and Day Campers. Orientation and lunch follows.


Check-out?

Thursday at 1:00 PM

Early Departure from Camp?

For liability reasons and everyone’s safety, if your camper plans to leave camp earlier than Thursday at 1:00 PM or only attend for 1-3 days, the camp director, Jim Detjen, must be notified of any such arrangements/plans and release your camper to you.

When do I receive the camp itinerary?

A typical daily schedule for this year’s camp is sent out by email to Campers during the first week of June.


How far is the Salt Lake City airport from Wasatch Academy?

Wasatch Academy is located in the small town of Mt. Pleasant Utah. Our campus is 104 miles from the SLC international airport. It is approximately a 1hr 45-minute drive.


What about Salt Lake City airport transportation to/from Wasatch Academy?

We provide one-way airport transfers for a $100 fee. The approximate 1hr 45-minute drive is provided on Monday, June 5th and Thursday, June 8th. If you email by clicking here to request an airport transfer, our staff will contact you for your flight information two weeks prior to camp.

We do provide an option for arriving one day early on Sunday, June 4th, for an additional $55 fee. You can contact us for more information via email by clicking here.


What are the dorms like?

Dorm parents are available during the summer camps to chaperone and assist campers. Each dorm room has 2 beds and 2 desks. Bottom sheets are not provided on beds. Bring your own sleeping bags or blankets with sheets and pillow. A key card will be assigned to each camper that only opens their dorm building and dorm room. All dorm buildings have a lounge area and kitchen. WiFi is also available.


What are Wasatch Academy's policies?

Wasatch Academy is a drug-, alcohol-, and tobacco-free campus. Our dress code does not allow any offensive or illegal images. The dress and grooming of our students must always be appropriate, neat, and clean, consistent with Wasatch Academy values.


Is there a curfew?

Yes. At 10:00 pm all summer campers must be in dorms.


Is there medical support on campus?

Yes. Wasatch Academy has a wellness center with nurses and an Athletic Trainer on campus or on call. The Sanpete Valley Hospital and Clinic are only a few blocks from campus. All Wasatch Academy faculty and staff are CPR certified as well.


Are food-specific needs accommodated?

Yes. You make accommodations for dietary needs and food allergies during the online registration process.


What is your refund/cancellation policy?

Simple.

  • If you cancel before May 16, 2025, you will be charged a non-refundable deposit of $125. There are no refunds if you decide to cancel after the May 16 deadline.

  • If you do not show up for camp for any reason, you will not be refunded.

  • If a camper is injured or has a documented medical emergency, they are entitled to a credit for the following year. This must be requested by email with a certified doctor's note sent to PPBC for the credit to be issued.


Who from the Wasatch Academy boys Varsity basketball team will be at the camp?

The entire 2025-26 team will be assisting Head Coach Paul Peterson during the camp.
